The world’s first temporal displacement occurred in the parking lot of Twin Pines Mall on October 26, 1985 at 1:20:00 AM by using Emmett Brown’s DeLorean time machine. The first time traveler was Doc Brown’s dog Einstein, who only experienced an instantaneous trip when in fact that trip had lasted one full minute.

* The EMH was a holographic simulation of a Human, but with no internal organs beneath the apparent surface to conserve computer power.
* Holodecks used omnidirectional holographic diodes. A sickbay was fitted with a system of OHDs that projected an image of the EMH. Each projected a complete image. Visible portions changed as the hologram moved, creating an illusion of fluid motion.
* Magnetic containment fields allowed the EMH to interact with physical objects. These force fields moved as the EMH moved to create the appearance of solid matter. The containment fields could be shut off, allowing objects and people to pass through them – an EMH’s cohesion could range from solid to intangible.
* When OHDs and magnetic field generators were added to other parts of a ship, they allowed the hologram to leave sickbay (as in more advanced Starfleet ships or modified configurations).
* USS Voyager also discovered the 29th century mobile emitter technology which, when attached to the EMH and program transferred to emitter, would allow EMH to roam freely, but would not be vulnerable to possible damage, on board ship, shuttles or even planetary surfaces. This allowed EMH to act as medical aid during away missions.
* The universal translator algorithm was written into the EMH’s matrix.
* The EMH was a hologram, thus its operations range was limited to the areas with supported holographic generators. On standard spaceships this would mean sickbay and holodecks.

Big Daddies are genetically-enhanced human beings who have had their skin and organs grafted into an enormous diving suit. The candidates also go through voice box modification and pheromone application. This pheromone is what attracts the Little Sisters to the Big Daddies. They are then placed in large vats with a substance that effectively turns them into mindless drones. With gene splicing, the humans inside the suits were given enhanced strength and agility. Their suits are made mostly of steel and contain life support machinery to keep them alive during their duties and they function as exoskeletons; allowing them to lift heavy weights with ease. The suit also gives them the ability to resist deep ocean pressure to a depth of six miles. Big Daddies are sometimes assigned and outfitted to do other constructive tasks around Rapture. Big Daddies have been seen doing repairs and other maintenance tasks both inside and directly outside the city.
The Big Daddy was the brainchild of Dr. Yi Suchong. Knowing that the Little Sisters would be at great risk if they were out on the streets gathering ADAM with no protection, Suchong sought to rectify the problem. With much trepidation, he presented his idea to Andrew Ryan. Knowing that becoming a Big Daddy would be a “one-way street”, Suchong fretted about finding suitable candidates, despite Ryan’s assurances that it would not be a problem. Although the true identities of the candidates are unknown, it is probable that they are either criminals, supporters of Atlas, victims of Ryan’s mind control pheromones etc.
Big Daddies communicate by haunting sounds similar to that of a whale’s call. For easier interpretation, lights were added to the helmet to display what state of intention the Big Daddy is in. Big Daddy helmets have three light colors: green indicates the Big Daddy is hypnotized and friendly, yellow indicates awareness of but indifference to his environment, and red indicates a rage towards assailants.

The Battle of Wolf 359 took place in 2367 in the Wolf 359 system, roughly eight light years from Earth, between the forces of the United Federation of Planets and the Borg Collective. It is recorded as one of the most destructive battles in Federation history prior to the Dominion War.
In 2367, around stardate 44002.3, the cube entered the Wolf 359 system. Locutus hailed the assembled fleet, ordering them to disarm and escort the cube to the Sol system. Immediately thereafter, the fleet engaged the Borg.
The Excelsior-class USS Melbourne was among the first ships destroyed, with its saucer section partially vaporized while approaching. The Miranda-class USS Saratoga was quickly neutralized thereafter. When the Ambassador-class USS Yamaguchi and the Nebula-class USS Bellerophon rushed to rescue their trapped sister ships, they, too, were destroyed, along with numerous other starships entering the combat zone.
After bare minutes of combat, the fleet was faced with utter defeat. Admiral Hanson attempted to rally the remaining ships to launch a last-ditch assault, but his ship was destroyed shortly thereafter. His final words were to Captain Riker of the Enterprise, whom he contacted briefly during the course of the battle. Communications were cut off in the midst of this transmission, and no further transmissions were received.
